Book: The Tale of Despereaux.
Author: Kate DiCamillo
Illustrator: Timothy Basil Ering
Story: This is a story of a sickly, unwanted mouse, born into a large family. He is persecuted for committing a most atrocious crime, speaking to a human, and takes his fate into his own hands. It is also the tale of a manipulative rat, and many other brilliant characters (yes, some of them are human)
Opinion: This really is a bed-side story type book, and I lapped it up, a brilliant, quirky story with beautiful illustrations, it really is heart-warming. It could brighten up any day or night, and is something which you could read time and again and not grow tired of. I really hope the film does it justice. I love this story!
