Book: 48 shades of Brown
Author: Nick Earls
Story: Dan moves in with his 22 year old aunt when his parents move to Geneva, so he can finish his last year at school, he has to deal with the harder stuff, like calculus and "the adult world" and to make things worse, he falls for his aunts house mate Naomi.
Opinion: I know how much TLC goes into a book, the authors blood sweat and tears, how time consuming it is, and how for a while it's pretty much like the author’s baby for however long it takes to be written, so when I spend a few days reading a book it pisses me off when I end up flinging it across the table when I've finished. This book is one of the most time wasting things I've ever read, NOTHING happens! It's pretty much a guy who wants to get laid, and who'll change himself into whatever the object of his affection wants. It has some good points, which I... uh... well can't really think of right now because the frustratingly anti-climactic ending completely over- shadows those few good points. It's really depressing how insecure and desperate this guy is, how his life revolves around someone who doesn't notice him and has a boyfriend, I really wanted to slap him. I am a little ashamed of writing this because, as I said before, I know what goes into a book, but seriously, I don't think this guy even tried! He just rambles on and on and ON and then it ends. This is a completely a matter of opinion, but PLEASE don't read this! I want those hours back!!
